Role: Lead Software Engineer, Solutions Architect
Responsibilities:
Rewrite the proprietary firmware (C++, Arduino) to control IoT devices (ESP32/ESP8266, Airzone, Sonoff, etc.) from scratch, unifying the codebase, convert to a PlatformIO project and add new capabilities (mesh networking, security hardening, standalone operation, automation, etc.)
Develop a multi-platform Flutter app for local interaction
Develop an Azure cloud backend for remote monitoring and control of devices
Maintain the legacy website and backend (MySQL, PHP, JQuery) while taking initiative to modernize the codebase with NextJS, MongoDB, Redis, Golang, and other new capabilities, to support millions of devices with minimal server overhead
